      STATUTORY AUTHORITY: KRS 194.050, 211.090

      NECESSITY, FUNCTION, AND CONFORMITY: The Cabinet for Human Resources is directed by KRS 211.090 and 211.180 to adopt rules and regulations necessary to regulate and control the safe handling of food and food products and to formulate, promote, establish, and execute policies, plans, and programs relating to the safe handling of food and food products. The function of this administrative regulation is to establish uniform procedures for the periodic evaluation of the retail food protection programs carried out by local health departments to determine their strengths and weaknesses for the purpose of protecting the public health.
