701 KAR 5:080. Application for approval of alternative school-based decision making model

Section 1. Schools requesting exemption from the administrative structure for school-based decision-making councils prescribed by KRS 160.345 shall submit the "Application for An Alternative Model for School-Based Decision-Making" to the chief state school officer and the State Board for Elementary and Secondary Education for approval. Said form is incorporated herein by reference and may be inspected, copied, and obtained at the Office of Research and Planning, 1st Floor, Capital Plaza Tower, 500 Mero Street, Frankfort, Kentucky 40601, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. NECESSITY, FUNCTION, AND CONFORMITY: KRS 160.345 establishes a statutory administrative structure for school-based decision making councils, but allows for schools to apply for exemption from the statutory model upon presentation of specified information and documentation; and KRS 156.160 mandates the State Board for Elementary and Secondary Education to prescribe uniform forms and blanks for use by local school districts. This administrative regulation prescribes the application to be submitted for exemption from the statutory administrative structure for school councils.
